I just found out (work with me here) my dad's, dad's, sister's, boy... so I believe that makes him my Cousin... is blind and more then likely due to this :/ Thanks to my Madre for doing the leg work as we don't know a ton about my Dad's side of the family... but it appears they are the Culprits here.... as my great-great grandpa also had problems (may have went blind as well??). I can't imagine going blind, especially not in my late 20's or early 30's with such young kids... who will take care of them!? More prayer's that people will continue to be generous and I'll make it!

Well I received my first donation today, how incredibly exciting it is to know I am one step closer to treatment! Still a LONG way to go though, but I really have faith that we will get there (we have until August). Still working on spreading the word and this site to raise awareness! Hoping to organize some other fundraising things as well, thinking maybe like selling some chap stick, candles, scratch cards??? Something.... if you have any ideas please feel free to leave them in a comment! :) Words can not even express how incredibly grateful I am to be at $100 already! You could look at it as 1/5th of my airline ticket! Thanks Again for your amazing contribution it is appreciated more then you will ever know!

How exciting to get everything set up and rolling! I am going to try and blog everyday about how things are going in the process. I hope some of you will follow along as I navigate through this crazy time and who knows maybe we can get a community of people affected by Keratoconus!
